Kids Cooking Academy was created to help families develop confidence in the kitchen through structured cooking lessons, practical learning, and a deeper understanding of food and nutrition.
Kids Cooking Academy was created to bring structured cooking and food education into family homes.
In a world where many children grow up disconnected from food preparation and nutrition, the Academy was designed to help families build practical life skills through guided cooking lessons, educational resources, and supportive learning.
Our programmes focus on more than simply following recipes.
They help children and families develop confidence in the kitchen, healthier food habits, and a deeper understanding of how food supports wellbeing.
Through a combination of structured courses, family cooking programmes, and educational resources, Kids Cooking Academy provides a clear pathway for learners to develop real cooking skills that can last a lifetime.
Structured. Educational. Purposeful.
Kids Cooking Academy approaches cooking as an important life skill and an essential part of food education.
Each programme is carefully designed to guide learners step by step, building knowledge, confidence, and independence in the kitchen. From early cooking experiences for younger children to more advanced learning for older students and families, every lesson focuses on practical skills that can be used in everyday life.
The Academy combines cooking, nutrition education, and food knowledge to create a learning experience that supports both confidence and healthy decision-making.
Kids Cooking Academy was founded by an experienced secondary school Food and Nutrition teacher with a passion for helping young people understand food, cooking, and healthy living.
Throughout many years in the classroom teaching Food and Nutrition, it became clear that many students were reaching secondary school without basic cooking skills or an understanding of how food supports health and wellbeing.
During this time, the work and commitment to food education were recognised through a Teacher of the Year nomination in 2007, highlighting a dedication to helping young people develop practical life skills and a positive relationship with food.
Kids Cooking Academy was created to extend this educational approach beyond the classroom and into the home. The goal was simple: to provide families with a structured, supportive learning platform where children and parents can develop confidence in the kitchen together.
Today, the Academy brings together cooking courses, educational resources, and nutrition learning to create a complete food education experience for families who want to build lifelong skills.

At Kids Cooking Academy, we believe that cooking is more than preparing meals — it is an opportunity to develop confidence, independence, and knowledge that supports lifelong healthy habits.
Our programmes are built around three core learning principles that guide every lesson.
Cooking is a practical skill that develops through hands-on experience.
Each lesson encourages learners to actively prepare recipes, measure ingredients, follow instructions, and practise kitchen techniques. This practical approach helps children and families build real confidence in the kitchen.
Strong cooking skills develop gradually.
Our programmes are carefully structured so learners build their knowledge over time — starting with simple techniques and progressing to more advanced cooking skills and food understanding.
This structured approach helps learners feel supported as their confidence grows.
Cooking education is also about understanding food.
Alongside practical recipes, our programmes introduce important concepts about ingredients, nutrition, and healthy eating habits. This helps learners make informed food choices and develop a positive relationship with food.
